FAQ's
Frequently asked questions
Scheduling
How soon can I get an appointment?
Typically, patients can see Dr. Reiner within 1-2 weeks after they inquire about an appointment
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
- You can cancel your appointment up to 24 business hours before your appointment without charge
-
Because it is challenging to fill a time slot on such short notice, the full fee will be charged if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment
Fees/Insurance
Do you accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid?
Please refer to the Fees & Services section of the website.
-
Many of my patients get reimbursed by their insurance providers even though I am out-of-network -
I provide patients with a receipt called a "superbill" that you can provide your insurance company after your visit. Doing so can help them reimburse you. -
Please speak with your insurance company for any questions prior to your visit
Services
What services do you not provide?
Certain conditions are not appropriately treated through telepsychiatry, including:
-
Active eating disorders (e.g., binging, purging, anorexia) -
Severe alcohol or drug addiction/abuse -
Any set of symptoms deemed by Dr. Reiner at any point to be severe enough such that a higher level of care is required -
See full policies for more details
-
Stimulants for ADHD such as Ritalin, Adderall, etc. -
Sedative/hypnotics for insomnia such as Ambien, Sonata, etc. -
Benzodiazepines/Anxiolytics for anxiety such as Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin, etc.
Do you provide video-visits/telepsychiatry visits?
Yes! In fact, all visits are telepsychiatry visits at this point in time due to COVID. Depending on COVID and patient need/demand, we may offer in-person visits in the future
Communication
What if I need to contact you during non-office hours?
- If it is an emergency (e.g., if you are having thoughts of wanting to harm yourself or someone else), please call 911 so you can have an emergency evaluation
-
Please limit after-hours calls to urgent situations -
If your situation is non-urgent, the best way to reach me is through the patient portal -
